Day 01: Arrive Chennai
Meet and assistance by our Tour Executive and transfer to the hotel for two nights stay. (No Meals)
Day 02: Chennai
Visit Kalakshetra, a school of art and music that encourages exponents of Bharatanatyam, Carnatic music, traditional weaving and designing; St. Mary’s Church, the oldest Church in India with its premises; Sri Parthasarathy Temple built by Pallavas in the 8th century AD; San ourmas Cathedral Basilica rebuilt in 1606 as a cathedral and in 1896 it was made a basilica. Day 03: Mahabalipuram
Travel to Mahabalipuram, en-route visit Kanchipuram, the city of a ourusand temples and one of the seven sacred cities of Hindus; The city is also famous for its silk weavers, settled around 400 years ago and has given it an enviable reputation. Stay overnight at Mahabalipuram. (B,D)
Day 04: Mahabalipuram
Go on a sightseeing tour, where the Pallavas have created many marvellous monuments with sculptural panels, caves, monolithic Raths (Chariot) and Temples. In the evening enjoy a walk and witness life of local living in th town. (B,D)
Day 05: Pondicherry
Travel by road to Pondicherry and enjoy the sightseeing tour of this city ruled by French for about 281 years before independence, Stay overnight at Pondicherry. (B,D)
Day 06: Thanjavur
Drive to Thanjavur, en-route visit Chidambaram known for its beautiful temple dedicated to the Lord Nataraja sculptures, illustrating 108 forms of dance. Visit the GangaiKonda Cholapuram for its rich, beautiful and intricately carved Chola style sculptures. It also houses some remarkable bronzes of the Chola Dynasty. Stay two nights at Thanjavur. Day 07: Thanjavur
Today go for sightseeing tour of the city known as the "Rice bowl of Tamil Nadu" famous for the ancient handicraft making of bronze icons. Visit intricately carved temples dating back to 10th century and shop for souvenirs. (B,D)
Day 08: Thanjavur – Trichy
After breakfast enjoy short drive to the historical city of Tiruchirappalli, popularly known as Trichy, claimed to be one of the oldest town established, a several centuries before the birth of Christ. Visit Rock Fort and ancient temples and walk around to witness the culture left behind by many rulers. Stay overnight at Trichy. (B,D)
Day 09: Trichy – Madurai
Travel to Madurai, and relax at the hotel or explore town famous for silk weaving. Stay overnight at Madurai. (B,D)
Day 10: Madurai
Visit the magnificent Meenakshi Temple and experience stunning architecture. The sculpted pillars tell the story of the beautiful princess of Madurai and her marriage to Lord Shiva. (B,D)
Day 11: Madurai - Thekkady
Travel to Thekkady and enjoy the spice plantation tour to see crops of cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee and tea estates. Purchase some fragrant spices from the market. Stay overnight at Periyar. (B,D)
Day 12: Wildlife Safari
This morning we enjoy a wildlife safari at Periyar National Park. Later in the day optionally enjoy an elephant ride in the coffee plantation. (B,D)
Day 13: Private Backwater Cruise
Travel to Alleppey, and embark on your private houseboat; Cruise through narrow canals winding through the vast expanse of paddy fields and experience panoramic sights one can never forget. All meals and overnight on board. (B,L,D)
Day 14: Kumarakom – Cochin
Disembark from the houseboat and travel to Cochin set on a cluster of peninsulas and islands in the Indian Ocean. Explore and witness the town possessed by many rulers. Stay two nights at Cochin. (B,D)
Day 15: Cochin
Enjoy sightseeing tour by taking a ferry-boat across the waterway to discover the remains of Fort Cochin and conclude your evening with a Kathakali dance show. (B,D)
Day 16: Cochin
After leisurely breakfast, the tour finishes with transfer to the airport around midday. (B)
